Considered one of the greatest film trailers of all time, The Two Towers preview was a lightning rod of fan criticism because of its huge spoilers. Watching it now, it gives away the entire plot of the movie. Most egregiously it spoiled Gandalf’s return - one of the few genuine Tolkien surprises in all his writings.
