Ants are surprisingly intelligent creatures, especially considering their small size and simple brains. They exhibit complex behaviors such as problem-solving, communication, farming, and teamwork. Ants use pheromones to leave scent trails, allowing others to follow paths to food or avoid danger. Some species even build elaborate underground colonies with ventilation systems and specialized chambers. Leafcutter ants farm fungus, while army ants coordinate massive raids using collective strategy.
