Swamp White Oak

The Swamp White Oak Tree, Quercus bicolor, is a long lived native White Oak that is easier to transplant than other white oaks such as the Bur Oak, Post Oak, and White Oak (Quercus alba). It is native to bottomland sites with acid soil and will become chlorotic with yellowing leaves if the soil has a high lime content. The leaves of the tree have shallow, rounded lobes and are two-toned in color with the top of the leaf being dark shiny green and the underside being white and silvery with a down
